Things to do before you call your heat and air company...

It is an awful feeling in the middle of summer (or winter for that matter) when you turn on your thermostat and there is nothing but hot air blowing out the grilles or no air at all. There are a few things to do before you call your heat and air technician out that might  save you some money.
1. Check your thermostat to make sure it is on and set to cool.
2. Check your breakers, if they are tripped re-set them.
3. Check your filters. If they are plugged ,remove them and replace (or clean them if you have washable filters)
4.If your unit has tripped on high head pressure, there might be a reset button at the copper lines at the condensing unit, after cleaning your filter and rinsing your outside coils, try it. If it can be reset , that might  get you going until a technician can come.
